The CME manager, working closely with Marketing, Medical and Sales will lead the development and implementation of brand-specific CME and national conference plans. The CME manager will have a deep understanding of the science and education needs of the multidisciplinary health care professionals. He or she will develop and ensure implementation of effective educational strategies and tactics. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Implements CME processes and complies with Celgene guidelines thus ensuring events meet the needs of our customers and adhere to principals of adult learning, that position Celgene as the leader in HemOnc, and that are always on strategy while minimizing low-value time requirements from our staff. 2. Manages conference planning process for national and international conferences for selected therapeutic areas/brands. 3. In conjunction with Marketing, Sales and Medical, identifies the needs of our customers, develops and leads the implementation of a national CME and conference plan for selected therapeutic areas and brand. 4. Leads the cross-functional team responsible for the planning of national and international conferences. 5. Develop relationships within key Institutions and CME Directors to facilitate accredited medical education programs that maximize Celgene educational objectives and provide innovative learning opportunities. 6. Develops creative CME initiatives that are in alignment with business needs and add value to HCPs supporting them in providing excellent care. 7. Evaluates and selects CME and logistic agencies and manages these vendor relationships to get the best value for our CME spend. 8. Proactively anticipates changes in the environment and adapts the educational plan to meet changing needs. 9. Monitors new scientific developments and facilitates the translation of research into clinical practice via educational initiatives. 10. Identifies, analyzes and interprets scientific literature in order to be able to provide accurate, scientifically balanced medical information and recommendations for program development. 11. Demonstrates deep knowledge of therapeutic area and Celgene products and relevant competitors 12. Engages in continuous learning within the therapeutic area 13. Champions Celgene Values Skills/Knowledge Required: • BSc. or MSc. with minimum 5 years in CME role, with at least 3 of these years in specialty area, oncology or hematology preferred. • Ability to lead and facilitate effective cross functional collaboration and maximize educational initiatives. • Advanced understanding of adult learning principles and how to apply them. • Working knowledge of the health care system and the CME environment. • Proven strategic and tactical planning abilities. • Must have strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must have the ability to meet job tasks & project deadlines and organize workloads for successful project implementation. • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to interact closely with National and Regional KOLs • Strong scientific/medical background, ideally with a knowledge of malignant haematology. • Able to interact with a diverse group of corporate teams to maximize communication, strategic development and program implementation. • The ability to function as an effective team member is essential.
